Privacy Policy — BetVantage

BetVantage in brief

BetVantage is an odds comparison, promo, and pick-tracking tool. We compare real sportsbook prices across the books you use, surface promos worth taking, and grade our picks on a public ledger. BetVantage does not operate a sportsbook and does not accept, process, or place wagers — you bet directly with your own sportsbook.

BetVantage is free. We do not collect payment information, and the app has no advertising, no ad networks, and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites. BetVantage is operated by Boardview Technologies, LLC.

What the app collects

Account. If you create an account, your email address and a password. The password is handled by our sign-in provider and is never stored in a readable form. If you use the app without signing up, the app creates a guest account — a random ID with no email address — so your settings can be saved.
Setup choices. The answers you give when you first open the app: which features interest you, your U.S. state (optional), and the sportsbooks you pick. Your state is used to show only the books available there. We also keep your notification settings and the date and version when you accepted the Terms and this policy.
Things you save. Alerts you create (the game, market, outcome, target price, and an optional note you type), tracked games, and the EV+ picks you choose to track.
Bet history. A log of the outcomes you add to your bet slip or tap through to a sportsbook, plus any stake or win/loss result you enter. BetVantage never places or verifies bets; this is your own record.
Push notifications. If you allow notifications, a push token for your device, which lets us send you the alerts you set up.
Emails. We use your email address for account emails (such as confirming your address or resetting a password), for better-line alert emails about alerts you created, and, if you turn them on, product updates and the daily Vantage Picks email.
Messages to us. Anything you send to support@betvantage.app or through the contact page.
Technical data. As with any online service, our servers and the providers listed below receive technical details with each request, such as your IP address, device type, and app version.

Alerts, tracked games, setup choices, notification settings, and push tokens are saved to your account (or guest account) on our servers. Bet history and logged EV+ picks are kept on your device and, when you are signed in with an email account, copied to your account so they follow you across devices.

What the app does not collect

Your location. The app does not ask for location access; you choose your state from a list.
Your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.
Payment information. BetVantage is free.
An advertising identifier. The app does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
Third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting data. The app does not include those SDKs.

This website

Product updates list. If you add your email (and optionally your state) on the Product updates or Contact page, we keep it along with the page you signed up from, the referring page, your browser's user agent, any campaign tags on the link (UTM parameters), and the time of submission. We use it to send product and coverage updates.
Email to us. Contact details and message content when you email or contact us.
Hosting logs. Our host receives standard request data, such as your IP address, browser, and the page you asked for.

The website does not use analytics, advertising cookies, or tracking scripts.

How we use information

To run the app: sign you in, save your settings, and send the alerts and emails you asked for.
To respond to support requests and send product updates to people who asked for them.
To keep the service secure, prevent misuse, and fix problems.
To understand which parts of BetVantage are useful and improve it.
To comply with applicable law and protect BetVantage and its users.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Who else handles information

We use service providers to run BetVantage and share information with them only for that purpose:

Supabase — account sign-in (including the emails that confirm your address or reset your password), our database, and server functions.
Resend — delivers our alert and update emails.
Expo — delivers push notifications (through Apple's notification service) and app updates.
Apple — Apple's push notification service carries notifications to your device.
Vercel — hosts this website and the web version of the app.
ESPN — to show live scores and game details, the app requests public sports data directly from ESPN's public API. Those requests do not include your account information, but, like any web request, ESPN receives your device's IP address.

When you tap a "Bet at" or "Claim at" link, you leave BetVantage and that sportsbook's own privacy policy applies. The link may include your chosen state so it opens correctly; we do not pass your email or account details. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect BetVantage and its users.

How long we keep it

Account and app data — for as long as your account (or guest account) exists. Deleting the account deletes it (see below).
Data stored only on your device — until you remove it in the app or delete the app.
Push tokens — until you sign out, or the token stops working and is removed.
Product updates list — until you ask us to remove you.
Support messages — as long as needed to help you and keep a record of the request.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, inside the app: open the Account tab, then Security, then Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete forever. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, saved alerts, alert history, tracked games, bet history, push tokens, and preferences. There is no grace period or recovery. It works for guest accounts too.

If you cannot use the app, or want your data deleted for any other reason, email support@betvantage.app from the address on the account and we will delete it. Data that exists only on your device is removed when you delete the app.

Your choices

Turn better-line alert emails, push notifications, product emails, and the daily Vantage Picks email on or off in the app under Account, then Notifications.
Remove entries from your bet history in the app, or clear it all.
Turn off notifications for BetVantage in your device's Settings.
Change your email or password in the app under Account, then Security.
Ask us what information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, by emailing support@betvantage.app. You can also reach us through our contact page, and ask to be removed from the product updates list the same way.

Security

Data moves between the app and our servers over encrypted connections, and each account can read and change only its own records. No online service can promise perfect security.

Children

BetVantage is intended for adults 21 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone under 21 has given us information, email support@betvantage.app and we will delete it.

Age and responsible gaming

Please gamble responsibly and verify all odds directly with the sportsbook before placing any bet. Our responsible gaming resources have more, and our terms of service cover how the product may be used. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call or text 1-800-GAMBLER.

Updates

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page, with the "last updated" date above kept current.
